The one who started it all. Gemma is twelve going on thirty — serious about the things she cares about, funny when she decides to be, and deeply unimpressed by most things adults find impressive. She reads constantly, has strong opinions about how stories should end, and has already informed her parents she's going to write a book someday. They believe her.
